Raducanu made it to the third stage in three of the four major tournaments in the current campaign.

Britain's Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from her remaining competitions of the year as a result of the illness that has affected her in recent days.

The 22-year-old had planned to participate in Tokyo and Hong Kong but chose to travel back to rest and recuperate prior to beginning plans for the 2026 season.

These plans will involve trainer Francisco Roig, as both individuals will keep partnering for the upcoming season.

The tennis professional had her blood pressure taken while playing the initial match with Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and withdrew when losing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

Another medical visit was necessary a doctor's assessment at the recent Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in the opening round.

Raducanu was also moving far from freely in the final set against Zhu because of the lower back problem that has troubled her on several occasions in 2025.

These outcomes followed a positive campaign, in which the player advanced into the world's top 30 after more than three years in more than three years, finished with a trio of defeats.

Raducanu had three match points then was defeated by Jessica Pegula in round three in last month's Beijing event.

Raducanu won twenty-eight matches during 2025 and advanced to the semis in Washington, but her standout performance was at the Miami Open in March.

As Britain's top player made the last eight of this WTA 1000 tournament, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament before losing in a three-set match to fourth-ranked Pegula.

Her coach was Mark Petchey as coach from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig taking over ahead of the US Open.

The initial agreement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was through the season's conclusion but the partnership will continue, with planned training sessions in the coming months.

Raducanu told that the trial session with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She came very close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in Cincinnati during August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in the New York tournament, where she reached the third round before being beaten by 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
