Prosecutors have stated that a ex- doctor now faces charges for carrying out assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – some of which involve some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A senior CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
These allegations follow what police called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
