The children's author David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.

Prolific writer for children and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

A representative for the company said: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the move was made after an review of reports of questionable actions directed at women.

The firm declined to specify the motivations for this action, adding: "We do not comment on internal matters."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, having sold more than 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.

A number of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works in total, which features a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
