The star has given the complete sum of his £25k award prize money to the trust for venues, which functions to preserve the Britain's grassroots concert spaces.

He was given the prize on mid-October as his new release the album was declared the top album of the past year.

The musician has chosen to donate the funds to the MVT, in appreciation of the crucial part small stages fulfilled in his initial steps.

"As an artist couldn't be pursuing this success if it hadn't been for all the gigs I did around the region, and further afield, when I was beginning," remarked Fender. "These venues are legendary, but they are in difficulty."

Beginning in 2023, over 150 of these venues have ceased operations – approximately 16% of the total UK scene.

Recently, top acts such as Pulp, the group Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all backed the trust in its initiatives to keep the scene afloat, by including a minor surcharge to their admission fees, which supports smaller concert halls.

He also participated, collecting more than £100,000 on his recent tour to help thirty-eight grassroots venues across the UK.

The donation assisted locations that were dealing with potential shutdown due to issues caused by flooding, blazes and personal losses, as well as permit problems, court cases and noise complaints.

Additional spaces received financial assistance in modernizing facilities and technical equipment that positively impacted musicians and fans.

"The concept that funds from shows in big venues supports the local stages, where it kicks off for musicians like me, is just sensible," Fender has commented.

He is far from the only musician to contribute his honor funds to charitable organizations.

When they won the prize in the mid-90s for their release the album, frontman the singer declared that the band would donate their winnings to the charity the charity.

In 2002, musician the artist divided her bounty across a few charities, like the NSPCC and a Sickle Cell charity.

"I also gave a £1,000 to the center, to their gymnastics class, because I practiced gymnastics when I was growing up and they needed updated gear," she told outlets.

Previously, Ezra Collective donated their prize money to the community center that developed their band, in addition to other grassroots music organisations.

And winners that year M People gave their award to a charity for MS after a friend was found to have the condition.

"Receiving the award was quite enough," said artist Small. "The money was the extra but we could do without the extra, because we had the cake. So our success affected somebody else's life."

In the past week, the trust announced it had saved two local spots in the South East, by bringing them into local control.

One venue in the city and the second in Bristol were purchased under the Own Our Venues scheme, which is supported by Arts Council England and enthusiasts who purchase "ownership units" in the properties.
